'Introduction to Small Scale Organic Farming' Workshop (12/15/20) via Zoom

Oct 27, 2020

Have you noticed the surge in small scale farming operations specializing in locally grown and distributed food? UC Cooperative Extension in San Bernardino County fully supports this movement that provides local jobs and boosts our local economy while also improving the health and well-being of County residents.

Our UCCE ‘boots on the ground' scientists and support staff develop and extend credible information on both the technical aspects (varietal selection, irrigation, pest management, use of compost, fertilization, etc.) and business/marketing aspects in support of this important industry.

An upcoming example of UCCE's outreach in this area is our ‘Introduction to Small Scale Organic Farming' workshop (via Zoom) on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. UCANR Directors of our Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension (SAREP) and our Organic Agriculture Institute (OAI) Programs as well as local UCANR subject matter specialists and local farmers will be sharing a wealth of knowledge and resources with both current and prospective farmers. In addition, our co-sponsors (Inland Empire Resource Conservation District (IERCD) and the San Bernardino and Riverside County Farm Bureaus) will share information about their agencies and programs. Please pass along the flyer below to groups and individuals you think would benefit from attending this important workshop. For online security, registration is required via this link: http://ucanr.edu/u.cfm?id=253.
