The Animal Science Symposium is scheduled for May 23-25 at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. The Animal Science Symposium is a train-the-trainer professional development approach on important topics and skills related to animal welfare and animal health. The Symposium is geared towards 4-H staff, 4-H adult volunteers, and FFA teachers. Youth are not eligible to attend
The theme for this year's symposium is Animal Welfare, as this year's symposium will provide foundational training on the new Animal Welfare Proficiencies which will be rolled out later this spring!
Registration
The total symposium cost per individual is $110 which covers most meals, materials, educational sessions, and other program expenses; this excludes travel, lodging, and Thursday dinner. Registration closes on May 15th so make sure to register today at http://4h.ucanr.edu/4-H_Events/Symposium/
Youth Career Exploration and Interact Session
As part of the Animal Science Symposium, a Youth Career Fair will also take place at the event on Monday, May 23 from 5-7 pm. Youth will have the opportunity to interact with researchers, educators, industry, government organizations to explore possible career opportunities in animal science and agriculture!
