Shooting Sports Rifle Discipline Trainings

Here is the information for two upcoming Rifle trainings, one in May in San Luis Obispo and one in April in Watsonville.

Shooting Sports Project Leader Course

What: Rifle Discipline

When: Saturday, May 14, 2016 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

             Sunday, May 15, 2016 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

WHERE: San Luis Obispo Sportsmen Association's Houge Range, 3272 Gilardi Rd., San Luis Obispo, CA 93405

Only 14 spots are available for the training.

Participants must attend both days of training to receive certification. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will be certified as a rifle trainer and can lead a rifle project at the club level or serve as a county trainer to certify other leaders. Teen leaders are invited but must attend with an adult. 

To qualify for this training, you must have completed the following:

  • Enroll in https:/california.4honline.com in your resident county as an Adult Volunteer,
  • Complete the DOJ Live-Scan process in your resident county, and
  • Complete the Volunteer Orientation

If you are already enrolled as a 4-H Adult Volunteer, you do not need to complete the above steps.

Lunch will also be provided both days.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own eye and ear protection if desired, but it is not necessary. Please bring your completed medical release form with you on the first morning of class.

Where: Pajaro Valley Rod & Gun Club, 557 ½ Lakeview Rd., Watsonville, CA

When: Saturday, April 23, 2016 - 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

            Sunday, April 24, 2016 – 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Participants must attend both days of training to receive certification. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will be certified as a rifle trainer and can lead a rifle project at the club level or serve as a county trainer to certify other leaders. Teen leaders are invited but must attend with an adult. 

Lunch will be provided both days for $6.00 each day. If you have special food needs, please contact the instructor. Lunch is typically a bbq burger and fixings one day and a sandwich bar (make your own) and fixings the second day.
